Dale let me skim through it when i showed up at his crib to grab some Pro Tools presets last week and I love what I heard (not to mention Im on two tracks..lol)

Last night’s studio session was nothing short of amazing!
Me, Zaire, Kurt, Evan, and Kyle (she’s always sleep..lol) went through the tracks that I have so far for my album and have a DEFINITE 4.
.
The song I recorded last night called “On Stage” is CLASSIC MUSIC!
There is no genre that can hold the music we are creating. When the album is done, and we submit it to be distributed, the genre we’re putting on every song is “Music“…because that’s only way to describe it….
.
But back to the song “On Stage“…
it is “Sold Out Arena Music“…like you couldn’t perform this shit at a club! Performing that song in a club is like trying to explain the Pythagorean Theorem to a six year old (it’s just going to go WAY over people’s heads).
The song literally took 24 hours to create (I dozed off for about an hour and a half..but i was RIGHT back into it)..

I was in my studio, working on a song for my album with the television on mute (like I always do) when a news story on the tv was brought to my attention.
.
The bottom of the screen read “Man shoots wife and 5 children to death.” I froze…cut off everything I was doing and immediately turned the television volume up. The reporter was describing the event, stating that a man who was down about he and his wife both losing their jobs at Kaiser Permanente, and felt he had no other option, shot and killed his innocent children, his wife, faxed a letter to his local news station before ultimately turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.

I felt so small at that moment.
.
I felt ashamed.
.
I talk sooo much shit about nonsense when there is SO MUCH more goin on in this world.
.
There is no doubt that music means everything to me, but it felt so pointless…so miniscule. I’m sitting in front of a Mac for 11 straight hours, mixing down a song for an album and there are 5 innoncent children who didn’t even get to see their lives fullfilled, killed by the very person who brought them into this world.
.
These past few months have shown us, with the events surrounding president Obama, that ANYONE can be ANYTHING. Here you have 5 beautiful black children, all under the age of 8 and ANY ONE OF THEM could have been the future President of our country.
.
This sickens me.
.
I know life will go on, it always does. I know I will continue working on my album. But all I ask is that you never forget this event, and events just like it. Make your life meaningful, no matter what you do be the BEST at it; make your life count!!
.
I have a 6 year old sister who I love to death, and just seeing those kids faces on the screen hurt me more than anything because it was like I saw 5 different pictures of her. And if something like that were to happen to me…..honestly, I wouldn’t know what to do.
.
All I ask is that you put meaning and effort into your life and everything you do…and cherish the moments you have.

9-5
Not the regular 9-5…. we went from 9pm-5am (5:45am to be exact)
I didn’t even work on my album tonight which is the crazy part. El Prez, C San, K Mak, DNEZ, H.O.P.E., Julien, and Kurt all came by and we worked on two songs (one with a bunch of rappers on it..and the other is H.O.P.E.’s song featuring me).
We have video footage of the session that will be going up soon!

I aboslutely think this is one of the best songs I’ve ever done. The funny thing about this is I’ve literally had it for 4 months….what you’re listening to is the 8th and final mixed version of this song.
I really wanted to keep it for my album…but i couldnt wait until the fall for you guys to hear it!!

Last night, we had a full house come through….
Convinced, Chris Focus, E-Dub (Whateyethought.com), Eazee, Zaire, Kurt, Evan, and Curtis all came by to either be apart of or just to watch the magic happen.
A productive night that ended at about 4:30 am again (except Kurt and Curtis both fell asleep and didn’t leave til 10am this morning).

By now, you should know that the title of my debut LP is
“A City With No Seasons”
I named it that has a poetic-style title that would pay homage to the city I was raised in (because out here, there are literally no seasons…I could wear shorts in December or July).

Last night, Chris Focus and Eazee St. came by the house-turned-studio and we just sat and vibed all night…til 4:30am….
I played them 2 two tracks…my intro and “Believer”…

Renting out a house

so every morning we wake up, from now
until the end
of summer,
we work on my album.
That way,
when my album drops mid-fall,
